Hilka Hollmann is increasingly well known in the UK as one of the foremost experts in international adoption and surrogacy.

A former journalist at Der Spiegel (she is is bilingual in German and English) and now a partner at Dawson Cornwell, Hollmann has carved an important niche helping HNW and UHNW families navigate this complex aspect of family law, and has been involved in high-profile cases in the High Court and Court of Appeal.

She also, somewhat uniquely, acts for (U)HNWs in care proceedings, including where they face scrutiny from the media, bridging the gap between public and private children law.

‘I am very good at creating trust with people, and particularly people with public exposure,’ she tells Spear’s, adding that her ‘creative’ approach allows her to be tactical when protecting clients’ privacy and fending off public interest.
