Jamie Black is a partner at Sarasin & Partners and CEO of Sarasin Asset Management.
Black started his career in wealth management at NCL Investments just days before the 1987 stock market crash. He then joined Sarasin in 1996, eventually serving as head of the private client department, a position he held for over 20 years until September 2025.
Black favours an analytical, highly educational and thorough perspective to client management, while firmly believing in nurturing the next generation of talent via the firm’s internship scheme.
His distinct approach to client service utilises ‘the sixth sense’: predicting when his clients are likely to be worrying. ‘I feel disappointed if a client rings us when we had it in the back of the mind that we should be ringing them – you always want to get the call in first!’
