Swaati Osborne

Spear’s Review

Swaati Osborne, head of wealth planning at LGT Wealth Management US, helps US-connected individuals and families – including partners at high-profile law firms, entrepreneurs, private equity partners, charities, family estates and trusts – understand their cross-border wealth and investment requirements, working closely with tax advisers and lawyers to curate a plan that caters to her clients’ needs.

Osborne takes the time to get to know her clients well and assists them in navigating complex issues such as intergenerational planning and philanthropic strategy, or even planning an exit strategy or moving to another country.

Being ‘clear and concise with the way that we speak, and not using lots of jargon’ is important in building trust in a client-adviser relationship, Osborne tells Spear’s.

Adviser Profile

Having worked closely with the US team in her role as a senior wealth planner at LGT Wealth Management for a number of years, Swaati formally joined LGT Wealth Management US in 2023 to head up and develop their wealth planning proposition.

Bringing the wealth planning offering in-house to LGT Wealth Management US means that clients benefit from a more integrated and in-depth holistic wealth solution, broadening relationships from portfolio management.

The wealth planning offering incorporates discussions around a client’s financial affairs, both onshore and offshore. This encompasses not only the assets that LGT may currently manage, but also brings together the bigger picture for the client and their family, enabling them to better understand and achieve their objectives. Swaati and her team provide a complete offering at all stages of the planning life cycle, including the accumulation and decumulation phases, and estate and succession planning.

Swaati helps clients to understand the jurisdictional constraints that they may face as US-nexus individuals, especially when operating under multiple tax regimes and in an ever-changing regulatory landscape. She works in partnership with a network of private client advisers (legal and tax) to provide a coordinated approach that works in clients’ best interests.

Swaati has recently become a full member (TEP) of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), having successfully completed the STEP Diploma with a distinction at the end of 2024.

Authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority in the UK and a registered investment adviser with the Securities and Exchange Commission in the US, Swaati and her team truly understand the issues at hand for US-connected individuals.
