Adam Brownlee, an executive director in Coutts’ family office, primarily works with a family’s key wealth generator, creating a team of advisers around them to manage their capital. He also takes on an educational role with younger generations, guiding them on investment advice and capital structuring.

‘With the advent of technology and the ability for clients to access huge amounts of information much more easily, perhaps without the need for a face-to-face personal interaction, I think we have to demonstrate the specialist knowledge that either I or colleagues bring into the family office team,’ Brownlee tells Spear’s. ‘Clients are increasingly looking for that more now, looking for where we add value rather than trotting out the same old things.’

Brownlee brings nearly 25 years of experience to his role, having managed the wealth and investments of HNWs and UHNWs at LGT, HSBC and Credit Suisse.
