‘It’s clear that families are very conscious of the challenges as well as the opportunities wealth can bring,’ says Rachel Harrington, an executive director in the Coutts Family Office and Coutts Institute.

The Coutts Institute helps to develop strategies for families and family businesses, including advice on philanthropy, wealth succession, family business governance and succession, and preparing the next generation.

‘We focus on supporting our clients to ensure that their wealth lasts and has its intended consequences,’ she says. The institute also works with specialists in wealth structuring, trusts and estate planning to give joined-up advice. The aim is ‘to ensure we have a full view of all the client needs’.

Harrington is currently on maternity leave until spring/summer 2026.
