Spear’s Review
Andrew Terry, a partner at Harbottle & Lewis, combines his expertise in intellectual property law with reputation management work. It works to great effect for his clients, who are drawn largely from the high end of the media and entertainment industries.
Previously head of media and intellectual property at Eversheds Sutherland, Terry moved to Harbottle as his focus on individual clients increased. Speaking about the crossover between IP law and reputation and the rights individuals hold to their images, he says: ‘The two go very much hand in hand on the privacy side of things.’
Maintaining his clients’ privacy often means avoiding the courts when other avenues are available. ‘It’s all about using those litigation and legal tools,’ he says. ‘But well short of litigation, because that doesn’t really suit everyone.’
