Maurice Turnor Gardner partner Ed Powles advises on a range of private client matters, and leads the firm’s art and cultural property team. Here he advises on high-value sale and purchase transactions, provenance and ownership of artwork, and inheritance and capital gains tax considerations in regards to art, among numerous other issues.
The Cambridge graduate is described as ‘pragmatic and bright’ and completed his legal training at Magic Circle firm Allen & Overy. He joined Maurice Turnor Gardner in 2009 and became a partner in 2014, playing a key part in expanding and guiding the firm’s art team.
Powles has experience working with individuals from the UK and around the globe and is particularly knowledgeable about complex issues relating to trust and succession law.
