Spear’s Review
With more than three decades of experience as a private wealth lawyer, Maurice Turnor Gardner founding partner Ceris Gardner has led several of the firm’s tax planning departments, including its immigration team and art and heritage property team.
Gardner supports clients with a wide selection of legal needs, including the taxation practicalities of being a UK resident. She also advises HNWs on the best targets for their philanthropic giving; this can include setting up foundations and family charitable trusts.
Succession planning is often her way of introducing the next generation to the family’s philanthropic activity, and she assists with establishing a legal family structure.
Gardner tells Spear’s: ‘When tension comes to the surface, it’s how to deal with those [issues] to make sure that everyone feels they’ve been listened to and heard, and that their interests are being taken into account. Listening and hearing are fundamental.’
