Claire Broadbelt is co-chair of the UK civil fraud and business disputes team at Greenberg Traurig.

Her practice comprises multi-jurisdictional and often high-value disputes, including fraud, misconduct, regulatory investigations, conspiracy and breaches of fiduciary duty.

A large proportion of her work involves tracking and then recovering assets held across different jurisdictions. ‘I’ve found myself doing more work with the US because of Greenberg Traurig being a US firm,’ she explains. ‘In the last few years I’ve done work in Australia, Asia and France.’

The personal aspect of working for private clients is what holds Broadbelt’s interest. She tells Spear’s: ‘When you’re responding to a search order or freezing order, you’re dealing with people whose lives, quite frankly, are imploding.’ As such, she describes a lot of her work as ‘crisis management.’
