Spear's Review

Mark Stiebel, partner at Smith Hamilton, has extensive knowledge of complex 'big-money' family law cases, particularly where offshore and onshore trusts are involved. He also deals with some children matters.

With decades of private client experience, he is well equipped to deal with the most complex of cases, and he has the added benefit of being able to practise in South Africa and England and Wales.

'My clients feel very strongly that they want that guidance,' he tells Spear's. 'They want a tactical solution and close hand-holding from me, and I make sure I give them that.'

Another smaller, but nonetheless thriving, part of Stiebel's practice is within the art law sphere. 'I know they sound completely different,' Stiebel says, 'but they actually complement each other quite well, because [my clients] are in that space, and also in family law.'
