Sofia Syed is a co-founder of MEUM Group, a firm established in 2023 and described by its founders as ‘the next generation of private client services’.

‘MEUM is a collection of the most elite advisers, but we enable clients to instruct them all in one place,’ Syed tells Spear’s. Her expertise lies in preventative reputation management but with an employment law angle, an aspect often overlooked when addressing reputational concerns: ‘[Clients] need to protect themselves, even if they haven’t done anything wrong and are completely clean.’

She says: ‘We know that for a lot of our clients, their closest advisers are the people who are closest to them day in, day out – their inner household circle, their staff. They are a very easy source of information leaks to the press, the media and the public. We understand how we can mitigate that risk.’

In 2024, MEUM was the recipient of the 2024 Spear’s Award for Private Client Innovation and, in 2025, Syed was a finalist for the Spear’s Woman of the Year Award.
