Spear’s Review
Alexandra Tribe and her father, David Hallam-Peel, co-founded Expatriate Law in London in 2010. She says 90 per cent of the firm’s cases are international, with nearly all work involving British expatriates living overseas – including in the Middle East – or foreign nationals living in England.
Tribe’s practice includes a broad range of family law matters, including prenuptial agreements, high-value financial disputes and children work. Her knowledge of the complex ecosystem of different courts in the UAE allows her to advise clients on their best route to dissolve their marriage while also protecting clients from the complications that arise when parties want to file in different jurisdictions.
She tells Spear’s that there is often an impulse from those less experienced in international cases to litigate, whereas her experience in hundreds of jurisdictions around the world means she understands the cultural and judicial nuances and can often negotiate a quick settlement.
