Gavin Shaw
Spear’s Review
Starting in the school leaver programme at KPMG in 2003, Gavin Shaw has climbed up the firm’s ladder and is now head of the London family office and private client team.
‘I wanted to be an accountant growing up because I was good at maths, and that’s what I thought people who were good at maths did,’ he tells Spear’s. ‘It is the huge variety of circumstances and situations that private client work offers that has kept me here.’
Shaw advises high-net-worth individuals and wealthy families on international tax matters, including offshore trusts, domicile, remittance and residence issues, as well as the typical governance and succession matters international families often face.
Shaw also has experience advising individuals and families on the tax implications of foreign property acquisitions, changes to BPR policies and family investment companies.
