Butterfield’s personable vice president Karim Chowdhury joined the bank’s Bermuda arm to manage a portfolio of domestic and international HNWs, family offices and trusts, providing them with guidance on investments and bespoke lending. 

The adviser also plays a key role in driving the group’s business development on the island, and actively works with private client service providers to safely onboard clients. He also works with the Bermuda Development Authority to help smooth this process further.

Chowdhury was formerly a wealth manager at Schroders for close to seven years, and prior to that a private banker at Lloyds Bank and an internationally focused wealth manager at HSBC’s Jersey arm. He is a chartered fellow of the CISI.
