‘I’ve worked at Coutts since I was a graduate,’ Hannah Buxton told Spear’s. ‘The thing that has kept me here is Coutts’ ability to adapt, move forward and be relevant for what our clients need and how they want to interact with us.’ 

Buxton joined Coutts in 2003 after graduating with a degree in mathematics from Durham. For 18 years, she has served as a wealth manager working with UHNWs. In her current role as head of specialists, she leads a varied team of advisers — estate planners, trust specialists and portfolio managers — and ensures that advisers are ‘creating great client outcomes and supporting their growth ambitions’. 

She described her role as providing ‘the architecture of finding out what’s relevant for our clients’ goals and then finding the specialists that are going to help them do that’. She added that advisers at Coutts are especially adept at dealing with UHNW clients. ‘It’s about good business decisions, doing the right thing and utilising [clients’] wealth in a way that benefits in a broader capacity.’
