Company Profile
Exceptional wealth solutions
Utmost is a leading provider of insurance-based wealth solutions designed to help clients preserve and grow wealth for future generations. The company was founded in 2013 by Paul Thompson and Ian Maidens.
Utmost’s products are aimed at high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients seeking to help solve complex wealth issues.
Global presence
Utmost is headquartered in London and manages over £100 billion of assets (as at 30 June 2025). With further offices in Europe, the Middle East, Singapore and Hong Kong, it is well positioned to meet the needs of its global and internationally mobile clients.
Technical prowess
Utmost’s experienced team of structuring specialists has a wealth of local market insight, encompassing cultural, regulatory and in-depth tax knowledge. The highly qualified team is able to assess market developments quickly and structure appropriate solutions that are designed to address complex wealth planning needs.
Investment flexibility
Clients can invest across a broad range of asset classes or delegate the day-to-day management of their portfolio to their advisers. Utmost recognises that non-traditional assets such as real estate, private equity, hedge funds and collateralised securities can form an important role in diversifying a client’s portfolio and can offer solutions designed to accommodate these holdings.
Permanent commitment to its clients
A core value of Utmost is to deliver good outcomes to its clients. With rising macroeconomic uncertainty, the need for, and value of, expert planning solutions has never been greater, with clients and advisers looking for robust, accessible solutions to preserve and pass on their wealth. The scale and resources of Utmost enable it to successfully support its clients today, and for the generations to come.
Service ethos
Building on a track record of service excellence, Utmost continues to invest in digital services to enhance customer access and experience. Utmost’s Online Service Centre enables clients to gain instant access to their accounts online. Customer engagement is further supported by an experienced and dedicated telephone-based client service team. A key element of our service ethos is ensuring that the right people, skills and knowledge are available to clients.
Sustainability
Utmost is dedicated to making a positive difference. In line with its commitment to providing good client outcomes, we are committed to protecting the environment and investing responsibly. We have made steps to reduce our operational carbon footprint, with over 75 per cent of our employees in offices with renewable energy. Utmost also supports clients seeking investments that match their views on sustainability by providing a breadth of investment options and information on the sustainability of their investment choices.
The strength to deliver
Utmost has established itself as a leader in the wealth solutions market. The business was built through a series of acquisitions that have brought with them a long track record and a depth of knowledge and experience in their respective markets. Most recently, Utmost acquired Lombard International (now renamed Utmost Luxembourg), increasing its presence in key UK and European markets.
Utmost is financially and operationally robust. Fitch Ratings’ Insurer Financial Strength ratings for the group’s insurance companies, including Utmost International Isle of Man, Utmost PanEurope, Utmost Worldwide and Utmost Luxembourg S.A. are individually rated A+ with stable outlooks*. Accordingly, the group is well positioned as a long-term partner for advisers and clients globally, via offices in the UK, Europe, Middle East, Latin America and Asia.
