Having joined Schroders Wealth Management, then known as Cazenove Capital, Hong Kong, in 2013 as a portfolio director, Robert Ridland possesses a broad range of expertise ranging from hedge funds and alternative investments to equity research and asset management. 

After climbing the ranks, he has risen to the position of head of business development and client service in Singapore, where he brings an ‘institutional approach to strategy, asset allocation, and security selection to the private investor’.

Ridland previously worked as a fund manager at Cazenove Capital Management, where he was responsible for developing investment strategies. He also has a degree in history from the University of Edinburgh.

After joining Cazenove Capital in 2006, spending seven years as a Portfolio Manager within Private Wealth Management, Rob relocated to Hong Kong to help launch a new wealth management business for Cazenove Capital. 

In 2013 the firm was acquired by Schroders, and he continues to support the growth of the business – now from his base in Singapore. The last two years have brought a myriad of challenges and changes, many of which have altered the wealth management landscape indefinitely. This adversity, felt across the industry, has galvanised his organisation, bringing them closer together, revealing new opportunities and strengthening their commitment to build a differentiated buyside wealth manager in Asia.
