With an extensive background in technology, commercial property and agriculture, angel investor and serial entrepreneur Simon Aron decided to turn his obsessive hobby into his life’s focus. 

He has been collecting whisky for over three decades and in 2018 launched Cask Trade, wanting to create something transformative that would make it easier for people to buy and sell exceptional casks of whisky. 

Aron and his team take care of every cask through each stage of its life cycle, from the date the whisky is distilled to the day it has been aged to perfection. 

Cask Trade has its own full bottling service and has now opened an office in Hong Kong to serve the Asian market.

Established in 2018, Cask Trade has grown from three people to 23, with an office in Hong Kong, selling to private and trade clients globally. 

Customers can follow a full life cycle of the cask: selection, purchase, maintenance, sampling and sale. We arrange the whole process, all the way from cask to bottle. 

Our approach to cask ownership has driven exponential growth. In 2023, we ranked 21st in the Sunday Times 100 Fastest Growing Businesses. In 2024, we were 24th in the Startups 100 Index and 147th in the FT1000 ranking of Europe’s Fastest-Growing Companies. 

We set up the world’s first cask auction platform in 2020 (Auction Your Cask) and launched Regent Street Cask Bottlers in 2021– our bottling service – leading the cask marketplace.
