In 2001, Colin Hampden-White, a trained quantity surveyor, decided to reroute and follow his passion by becoming a professional photographer. Quickly finding success, his portraits of great wine and whisky makers were later exhibited in the National Portrait Gallery and can be found in private collections worldwide.

His contribution to Scotch whisky – which includes serving as editor of Whisky Quarterly and on the advisory board of the Cask Whisky Association – was recognised when he was made a Keeper of the Quaich. He is a past chairman of the Circle of Wine and Spirits Writers, and was a presenter on Amazon’s The Three Drinkers show.

In 2019, Hampden-White joined Cask Trade, a cask marketplace for potential buyers and sellers, as its non-executive director. He emphasises that integrity and trust are at the very heart of the company.
