When Angela White left Withers in 2002 and helped to establish a new firm with former colleagues, her aim was simple: ‘I wanted to focus on private clients, acting for them in the ways I wanted, not to be pigeonholed by a bigger firm.’

In the decades since, Sinclair Gibson has grown into one of the leading boutique firms in the country. ‘I’m proud that we have managed to organically expand the client base while keeping our core ethos,’ she tells Spear’s. 

Today, White leads the firm’s family office services team, which involves a mixture of compliance work, administering probate and advising on estate structuring – all with a view to implementing long-term wealth planning for clients. A large part of her role involves UK and offshore trust management, liaising with beneficiaries and trustees, and ensuring existing structures remain tax-compliant as laws change.

Her clients, some of whom she has known for almost four decades, include family offices, fiduciaries and landed estates with complex tax considerations and assets in multiple jurisdictions.
