Victoria Willson
Spear’s Research
‘My job is like chess; I always have to think two steps ahead and anticipate the other side’s tactics,’ says Victoria Willson, a partner at Simkins with over two decades of experience in employment law.
Her practice covers ‘a bit of everything’, spanning both contentious and non-contentious matters, including whistleblowing, discrimination, exit negotiations and restrictive covenants. Clients include financial services professionals, bankers and senior executives, as well as high-profile names from media and entertainment.
She has a particular interest in cases involving the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006, also known as TUPE, having represented one of the respondents in the first-ever appeal before the Employment Appeal Tribunal.
In one successful case, she worked in the background with a senior executive over several years, helping her craft communications and navigate claims of discrimination and victimisation. She ultimately represented the client in a highly successful settlement following the termination of her employment.
