A part of the Simkins team that represented Sir Cliff Richard in his landmark case against the BBC and South Yorkshire Police (which was recognised at the 2018 Spear’s Awards as Case of the Year), Jon Oakley is no stranger to high-stakes reputation and privacy cases. ‘[Cliff Richard] did that because he felt a duty to try to make sure that no one in the future would suffer like he did,’ Oakley says of the case.
