‘At some level, I have always worked in the security industry,’ says David Webb, managing director at security and investigations firm Valkyrie.

Webb spent 26 years in the Royal Marines and British Army, and held roles at several international firms before joining Valkyrie in 2019.

He leads a multidisciplinary team that handles business intelligence, investigations, cybersecurity, digital forensics, physical security and crisis response. ‘It’s quite a wide remit, but all these services cross over; investigations can feed into covert surveillance and so on depending on the situation,’ he explains.

Webb’s clients include UHNW individuals and their families, particularly those whose wealth may ‘make them vulnerable to criminal targeting’. He often works with clients proactively to conduct risk mitigation measures, including assessing clients’ online exposure and conducting security reviews of their estates.
