‘HNW individuals are becoming much more alive to prenuptial agreements, and definitely towards things like cohabitation agreements and declarations of trust,’ says Russell-Cooke partner Jemma Pollock, explaining that she has observed a marked shift towards proactive relationship planning in her client base.
Pollock, who trained at the firm, advises on a wide range of family law matters, including divorce, financial arrangements and children-related issues. She has developed particular expertise in matters involving family offices, inherited wealth and multigenerational estates, and therefore frequently works with business owners, professionals and international families.
Pollock is a strong advocate of early resolution and typically steers clients towards non-court dispute resolution wherever appropriate.
‘Settlement in mediation and negotiation is better for a family than potentially two years of litigation,’ she says.
