Preston’s own recovery journey led him to found the Cheshire-based, purpose-built addiction clinic in 2018. Delamere provides a peaceful retreat for those suffering from all forms of addiction, and offers medically managed detoxification on site. ‘People come to us when they are sick and tired of feeling sick and tired,’ says Preston. ‘They’re looking for freedom.’

Delamere offers a ‘trauma-informed’ treatment model as an alternative to the widely recognised 12-step programme. ‘Addiction always comes from somewhere,’ Preston explains. ‘Successful treatment is about helping each individual identify and then begin to process whatever it is that’s been underpinning the addictive behaviour.’
