Mike Fisher

Spear’s Review

Studio Indigo creative director Mike Fisher founded the architecture and interior design studio in 2005 and has steadily built a reputation for creating homes which, according to the studio, ‘[champion] individuality and storytelling’.

Fisher works on a broad array of projects for UHNW clients who come from a range of professional and industry backgrounds, as well as those with generational wealth.

The studio’s portfolio includes apartments, country estates, ski chalets, sun-drenched villas and townhouses across the UK and Europe. However, Studio Indigo is not limited to residential projects, and Fisher has received recognition for designing yacht interiors, restaurants, galleries and hotels, including the Mandarin Oriental in Mayfair, which opened in 2024.

‘We pride ourselves on taking our design skills to new, different, challenging projects,’ he tells Spear’s.

Adviser Profile

Creative director Mike Fisher founded Studio Indigo in 2005, with the objective of bridging the gap between architecture and interior design to provide a more holistic approach. Mike graduated with a degree in architecture from the University of Dundee and went on to complete his master’s degree at Oxford Brookes in urban design. While his years as a student grounded him in architecture, mentors throughout his life taught him the intricacies of interior design, including colour, texture and form. This opened his eyes to a new world and one where he saw the gap between both fields quite clearly.

Now with over 30 years’ experience, Mike’s approach to design is fluid yet practical, each new journey representing a sense of discovery. His style straddles a fine balance between aesthetic and function, ensuring spaces are exciting and comfortable whilst also blending both past and present. Mike thrives on challenges as he finds them paths towards innovation and exploration, pushing the boundaries of space and design.

As the creative director of the studio, Mike oversees all of the projects, lending his expertise and leadership to ensure the studio surpasses expectations throughout every step of the development process. At the core of his approach lies a passion for delivering unrivalled experiences, coupled with a distinct ability to identify clients’ needs and wishes; he always yearns to ‘surprise and delight’.

After 15 years in the industry, Studio Indigo is working on some of the most illustrious spaces in both residential, commercial and yachting that are luxuriously bespoke and personal to each client.
