James Kandutsch
Spear’s Review
James Kandutsch joined architecture and interior design Studio Indigo in 2008 and was appointed CEO in 2020, having led teams on several prestigious projects, including Victorian townhouse refurbishments in Kensington and a Grade II-listed building in Chelsea, and spearheading the expansion of the studio’s yacht design offering.
‘We are good at transitioning from a traditional aesthetic to a contemporary one, and combining the two together,’ says Kandutsch, adding that this expertise is particularly useful where historic properties are involved. Kandutsch also holds an interest in modernising superyacht interiors, using the latest innovations in home technology to elevate his clients’ spaces.
Studio Indigo takes on projects across residential, hospitality and commercial real estate around the globe. ‘Every project is an entirely blank canvas,’ Kandutsch tells Spear’s, adding that projects always take into account space and place, as well as the lives of their clients.
