As one of the leading private client specialists in the south west, Emily Corbett joined C. Hoare & Co. in 2014 from the Swedish bank Handelsbanken, where she supported HNW clients in Bath and Bristol. 

Corbett’s arrival at C. Hoare & Co. – the UK’s oldest privately owned bank – was seen as a sign of its continued expansion into the region following the successful establishment of its Cambridge branch in 2019, the bank’s first regional office for more than 350 years. 

At the time of Corbett’s appointment, the bank’s director, Venetia Hoare, noted that Bath was a natural candidate for its second regional office. ‘The family has enjoyed close connections with the region dating back many centuries,’ she said – not least the fact that Jane Austen was once a customer.
