Edward Venmore joined Birketts' Bristol office in 2026 to lead the growth of its agricultural practice in the west of England - a ‘natural next step’, for the firm, said Venmore on his appointment.

Prior to joining Birketts, Venmore headed up the farms, estates and rural land team at Foot Antsey, where he had worked since 2012 and had risen the ranks from associate to partner level. His areas of expertise include commercial litigation, property disputes and professional negligence claims, as well as land diversification and natural capital.

Examples of recent cases include acting for landowners affected by a ‘site of special scientific interest’ ruling, advising landlords and tenants on their agricultural tenancies, and resolving a family dispute involving a claim being made on his clients’ farm.
