2023 Spear’s Awards finalist Ollie Marshall of Prime Purchase began his property career in the late 1990s at Chestertons before moving on to a small firm that was then bought by JLL. ‘What I found within the bigger firms is that clients don’t necessarily get the best service,’ he tells Spear’s.
At Prime Purchase, Savills’ property buying arm, clients get the best of both worlds. ‘You get the benefit of a large corporation with R&D and statistics, but we’re also very autonomous and can focus on each of our clients.’
With an impressive pool of clients comes a responsibility to be discreet, Marshall adds. ‘When we have really important clients, most of what we do doesn’t end up in the public domain. Doing deals under the noses of our competitors who might not find out about [these deals] until afterwards is very exciting.’
