Scott Milleisen

Spear’s Review

Scott Milleisen has run lending at Sotheby’s Financial Services (SFS) since November 2021. Typically writing loans of $1 million to $250 million secured against fine art, collectible cars and other luxury assets, Milleisen and his team have led major deals, including $105 million in acquisition financing for a Latin American family’s collection and an $85 million refinancing and debt consolidation for an international car collector.

SFS is also able to lend against an entire collection, which is particularly useful when a client requires liquidity for an inheritance tax bill or a business. The collection need not be art: Milleisen’s desk also lends against cars in their own right.

Before Sotheby’s, Milleisen spent 24 years at J.P. Morgan, latterly as US head of lending solutions, where the business he ran reached $1 billion in annual revenues. He also led the bank’s sports finance group, advising major league team owners.
