Jonny Fowle joined Sotheby’s in 2019 as a deputy director, heading the auction house’s global spirits arm within its wine department. Under his leadership, the percentage of spirits sold within the department increased, and Fowle oversaw a record-breaking £7.6 million auction.

In 2021, he was made director and head of a dedicated rare whisky and fine spirits team, and in 2022 he started managing Sotheby’s auction centres across seven cities including New York, Hong Kong, Singapore, London and Paris, while also overseeing the EMEA operations. He now serves as vice president and global head of whisky.

Fowle often works directly with distilleries to gain access to some of the most valuable – and expensive – bottles in the world.
