John Byrne

Global litigation and arbitration finance firm Therium promises law firms, groups and individuals looking for funding ‘all of the qualities that you would expect’, so they can ‘realise the value of [their] claim’. John Byrne co-founded the firm with Neil Purslow in 2009 and now acts as a director and CEO.
Therium is one of the longest-established litigation funders in the world; according to the firm it has raised more than $1 billion since its launch and has funded claims exceeding $100 billion.
Byrne is also a solicitor, holding LLB and LLM degrees, and is a former managing partner of the London office of Dorsey & Whitney. In that role, Byrne acquired PwC’s tax litigation team and a VAT litigation team from Ernst & Young.
