Alison Green, a principal consultant in Mackrell’s family and relationship team, joined the firm in 1989, qualified as a solicitor in 1991 and became a partner in 2010, later serving as head of department before stepping back from that role in 2025.

Green’s practice covers the full extent of family law matters, and she is called upon to provide advice on divorce proceedings, finance and private children-related matters, civil partnerships and wealth preservation, including pre- and postnuptial agreements.

She has particular expertise in working with clients in the Middle East, whose affairs span jurisdictions, and is equipped to advise expats on their ability to use English courts.

‘We’re very pragmatic in the way we look at things, in terms of talking to the client and [understanding] what their ultimate goal is, whether that goal is realistic, managing their expectations and working towards that goal,’ she tells Spear’s.
