Spear’s Review

Izzy Walsh is a partner at Hall Brown and joint head of the firm’s London office.

A specialist family lawyer and qualified arbitrator, Walsh represents HNW and UHNW clients in complex divorce proceedings – particularly where there is an international element – and advises on cross-jurisdictional pre- and postnuptial agreements. Other important aspects of her work include financial provision arising from unmarried relationships and international children matters.

When meeting a new client, Walsh looks to establish their priorities. ‘Is it maintaining a civilised relationship with a co-parent? Is is making sure that the arrangements for the children are prioritised before any other potential acrimony is caused? Is it retaining a particular asset? I think, often, people don’t necessarily know [the answer], and they therefore value the opportunity to talk about it,’ she tells Spear’s.

Walsh’s equestrian background means she is also often involved in cases with an equine element, and she has found herself working with elite equestrian sportspeople over the years.
