Joanna Pratt heads up the family department at Thomson Snell & Passmore. She has been qualified as a solicitor for over 25 years and became a senior partner with the firm in 2020.

Pratt specialises in high-net-worth financial cases, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and complex private children law proceedings. Often, her cases have an international element. ‘The majority of our work comes from existing or former clients,’ she notes.

She is a trained collaborative lawyer and is committed to helping clients resolve issues in a collaborative manner where appropriate. ‘[In the family team], three of us are collaborative lawyers, and then three are also mediators. We like to offer those forums to all our clients,’ she tells Spear’s. ‘For the vast majority of clients, avoiding court is the best outcome.’
