‘We always try to meet donors wherever they are in their philanthropic journey,’ John Canady, CEO of National Philanthropic Trust UK (NPT UK), tells Spear’s.
‘DAFs [donor-advised funds] are an increasingly popular alternative to setting up foundations,’ he adds, thanks to their convenience and flexibility. ‘Some donors want to donate various types of assets such as appreciated shares, restricted shares or alternative investments, which is possible with a DAF.’
Focusing on UK and international clients based in London, NPT UK handles compliance, due diligence and administration, which allows donors to focus on giving, Canady says. He is very impressed by his client base, who are ‘passionate about finding ways to make the world a better place. We need that right now.’
