Robin Beer
Spear’s Review
Brewin Dolphin boss Robin Beer was still some months short of his second anniversary in the role when it was announced – in March 2022 – that the wealth manager would be acquired by the Royal Bank of Canada.
Following shareholder approval of the RBC Brewin Dolphin deal, Beer was confirmed as the chief executive of the newly formed RBC Wealth Management. In this post, Beer has helped to oversee the absorption of Brewin Dolphin into RBC’s existing wealth management structure.
The firm has weathered the organisational overhaul and reported £57.6 billion in assets under management as of October 2024, up £5.8 billion from the previous year, placing it among the largest money managers in the British Isles.
