As senior partner at professional services behemoth PwC in the UK – which also has oversight of the firm’s Middle Eastern operations – Marco Amitrano oversees 36,000 tax advisers, consultants, auditors and restructuring experts.

It has been tough going recently for PwC and the wider professional services sector. The firm has told staff to expect lower pay rises and partners to expect lower payouts; this followed a number of redundancies worldwide.

But Amitrano, who took on the role in 2024 after working across PwC’s advisory and risk assurance businesses over his three-plus decades at the company, has maintained his commitment to reshaping the firm, pledging to ‘continue to adapt to stay competitive, grow our business and deliver on our ambition to be the pre-eminent professional services firm’.
