Douglas Bourne, country head for Schroders Middle East, joined the firm in 2018 as a client director. He was responsible for leading institutional sales but now builds the bank’s network in the region. 

Under his leadership, Schroders formed a landmark partnership with Bank Muscat to fully cater to HNWs in Oman. Of the partnership, Bourne commented: ‘We bring to this partnership the best of Schroders’ global investment expertise and the extensive experience of our wealth management arm in providing outcome-orientated investment solutions.’

The Durham graduate moved to the region in 2011 and served as a director at BlackRock, where he managed Middle Eastern sovereign and institutional relationships across the Gulf region.
