Emily Kidd

Spear’s Review

Emily Kidd advises two sets of clients: American clients and UK-based clients with a US nexus. ‘At Schroders Wealth Management US, we’ve made it a strategic priority to look after American clients and do it well,’ she says.

The portfolio director is UK/US dual-qualified and says that the firm is regulated by both the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) in the UK and the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) in the US.

She tells Spear’s that her UK-based clients have different concerns regarding their portfolios than American clients. ‘UK clients are focusing on planning as opposed to inheritance,’ she says, underscoring the anxieties relating to inheritance tax. ‘American clients are focusing on the economy and how the US elections might shape it.’
