Allon Barsam

Allon Barsam is a world-leading eye surgeon who specialises in vision correction, including laser eye surgery, lens-based vision correction surgery, and cataract and corneal surgery. He runs his private practice through OCL Vision, of which he is a founding partner.

The first British ophthalmologist to carry out laser cataract surgery, Barsam graduated from the University of Cambridge and University College London Medical School, and completed his residency training at Moorfields Eye Hospital. For more than a decade he served as the lead consultant and fellowship director for corneal transplantation and complex anterior segment surgery at the Luton & Dunstable University Hospital. 

Barsam is an internationally published medical author and lecturer, and has been the recipient of several awards; in 2023 he was named a fellow of the World College of Refractive Surgery and Visual Sciences.
