Spear’s Review

Windlesham House School combines all the best aspects of an innovative education and the British boarding school experience.

Pupils, who can choose between day, flexi and boarding options, enjoy a vibrant community and are encouraged to pursue their interests. There are over 150 clubs and activities available, including sports, textiles, Lego robotics and even sustainability projects. Windlesham House has been likened to a ‘mini secondary school’ due to its range of facilities, which include a 25m swimming pool, nine-hole golf course and 250-seat theatre.

The school is academically strong, too: in 2025, 35 pupils received scholarship offers from their senior school destinations.

Head teacher

Ben Evans has been headmaster of Windlesham House School since 2020. Previously head teacher at Edge Grove School in Hertfordshire, Evans is an experienced figure in UK independent primary education.

Senior school destinations

Pupils from Windlesham House received offers from Brighton College, Downe House, Sevenoaks School and Winchester College in 2025, to name but a few.

Admissions

According to the school, starting the admissions process early is recommended in order to give a child the best chances of being accepted into the ‘gently selective’ school. Admissions are based on a recent school report, a Cognitive Abilities Test (if available), and a taster day at the school including a one-night overnight stay, should they wish to board.
