Spear’s Review

Crimson Global Academy (CGA) is a 100 per cent online private school for primary, secondary and senior students. Particularly appealing to student athletes and performers, the school offers a range of curriculum options for children who are not able to, or would prefer not to, attend a traditional bricks-and-mortar school.

Students can choose between a UK- or US-based curriculum and attend virtual lessons led by experienced tutors who can answer their questions in real time. CGA says this ‘real-time, live teaching’ approach ensures an engaging and inclusive environment: ‘At CGA you can’t hide in the back row. Every student is seen and heard.’

Beyond the classroom there is a range of social events and extracurriculars (also held virtually) in which students can get to know one another and feel a part of a community.

Academics

In 2025:

  • 39 per cent of IGCSE results were grades 7-9
  • 36 per cent of A-Level results were A* or A

School Profile

Crimson Global Academy (CGA) is a fully accredited international online private school offering live, real-time classes to ambitious students aged 6-18 across more than 65 countries. Founded in 2019, CGA was created to address the limitations of traditional schooling by offering a more personalised, flexible approach to education.

Students at CGA tailor their learning across pace, subject choices, schedules and curriculum pathways. The school offers globally recognised qualifications including Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel International GCSEs and A-Levels, Advanced Placement (AP) courses, and the US diploma. These rigorous academic programmes are widely recognised by leading universities worldwide.

Classes are intentionally small, typically averaging 10 to 12 students, enabling teachers to deliver highly interactive lessons and individualised academic support. CGA's global faculty includes experienced educators from leading schools around the world.

A defining feature of CGA is its commitment to personalised learning and student agency. Students are placed by ability rather than age and can accelerate in subjects where they demonstrate strength, allowing them to balance academic ambition with pursuits such as sport, entrepreneurship or the arts.

The school also continues to innovate in digital education. CGA recently developed EMI, an AI-enabled primary learning platform designed to enhance teaching rather than replace it. Built in collaboration with students, teachers and families, the platform uses AI to support inquiry-based learning, provide real-time insights for teachers and offer greater visibility into each student's learning journey.

By combining world-class teaching, international curricula and purposeful technology, Crimson Global Academy provides a modern global education designed to help students thrive at leading universities and beyond.

Head teacher

Mark Phillips is principal of CGA’s A-Level pathway, and Brittanie Bates is principal of the US diploma pathway.

University and college destinations

Between 2020 and 2025, students of CGA have attended, among others, Oxford and Cambridge, a number of Russell Group universities, and Ivy League school Princeton University.

Admissions

Prospective students must first have a call with one of CGA’s admissions officers before completing an online assessment. Due to the nature of the school being online, there is also a dedicated onboarding period in which students are taught how the school operates.
