North London Collegiate School (NLCS) Jeju is grounded in the British system, benefiting from NLCS UK’s 170-year history and educational expertise.
As the first international school to be opened as part of the Global Education City on Jeju Island, the school has become known for its highly qualified, knowledgeable teachers, and students who have gone on to attend some of the most prestigious universities around the world, including Oxford and Cambridge.
NLCS Jeju is committed to applying its values of curiosity, critical thinking and care to the three pillars that make up its educational programme: academic scholarship, pastoral care and co-curricular education.
Academics
71 per cent of IGCSE results are grades 7–9.
Average IB score is 36.2.
University and college destinations
In 2024, three students received offers to Oxford and two to Cambridge. Fifty-six students received offers to attend Ivy League and Ivy Plus universities.
Head teacher
James Monaghan returned to NLCS Jeju in 2024 to take on the principal role, having served as director of boarding and vice principal of teaching and learning earlier in his career. Other previous roles include principal of NLCS Dubai and head of secondary at Sharjah English School in the UAE.
Admissions
According to the school, families from all nationalities are encouraged to apply, and the school accepts application on a rolling basis throughout the year. Applicants are required to submit school reports and a school recommendation letter.
