Spear’s Review
Known by some as the ‘Hogwarts of the Middle East’ with its towering turrets and brick archways, Repton Dubai is one of the region’s leading schools, attracting children of UHNWs, celebrities, Middle Eastern royalty and other prominent figures.
Maintaining its close links with its sister school in Derbyshire, it offers a UK curriculum with (I)GCSEs and A-Levels. Students can also opt for the IB diploma programme, and pursue BTEC qualifications and the EPQ. While academically intensive, 100 per cent of pupils at Repton Dubai pass the IB programme.
Alumni have continued their education at leading universities, including Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, St Andrews, Stanford and Columbia.
Academics
In 2025:
- 55 per cent of (I)GCSE results were grades 7-9
- 31 per cent of A-Level results were A* or A
- Average IB score was 35.0
Head teacher
Michael Bloy became Repton Dubai’s principal in 2025. He has previously held roles at King’s School Dubai and Markham College San Antonio, where he was head teacher. He studied history at the University of Manchester before pursuing postgraduate studies in education at Leicester and Lancaster universities.
University and college destinations
Repton Dubai graduates have consistently gained admission to prestigious universities worldwide. In recent years, notable destinations included University College London (UCL), St Andrews, the University of Edinburgh, Durham University and Boston University.
Admissions
The school’s admissions process begins with the submission of an online application form, where parents provide essential details about their child. Following this, the school requires previous school reports to assess academic history and personal information. An age-appropriate assessment is then conducted to evaluate the child's academic abilities and social competencies. For international applicants unable to attend in person, remote assessments can be arranged.
