Spear’s Review

Lakefield College School believes experience is the best teacher, and its lakeside campus in rural Ontario offers a host of such activities, from canoeing, ropes training and wilderness survival skills to snowshoeing and equestrian pursuits.

Renowned for its focus on the outdoors, the school’s 315-acre campus offers students the opportunity to immerse themselves in nature every day, while its 7:1 student-to-teacher ratio allows each child to get the support they need to thrive. The school believes that an outdoor education can lead to ‘increased personal development, emotional wellbeing and better performance’.

Academically, there are a huge range of subjects – from fine arts to engineering – and a number of Advanced Placement classes that help to lead graduating students into some of the world’s most elite universities.
