Spear’s Review

Lakefield College School believes experience is the best teacher, and its lakeside campus in rural Ontario offers a host of such activities, from canoeing, ropes training and wilderness survival skills to snowshoeing and equestrian pursuits.

Renowned for its focus on the outdoors, the school’s 315-acre campus allows students to spend time in nature every day, while its 7:1 student-to-teacher ratio allows each child to get the support they need to thrive. The school believes that an outdoor education can lead to ‘increased personal development, emotional well-being and better performance’.

Academically, there is a huge range of subject choices – from fine arts to engineering – and a number of Advanced Placement classes that help to lead graduating students into some of the world’s most elite universities.
