Spear’s Review

Located across two campuses, one in the southern suburbs of Buenos Aires and another in the northern part of the city, St George’s College is a non-profit school focusing on providing a ‘forward-looking approach’ to education. While the school does offer boarding, most of its students are day pupils whose parents are based in Argentina. 

While popular among local communities, the school says that 50 per cent of its classes are taught in English. Students therefore receive a bilingual education, preparing them for life beyond the school’s classrooms. 

St George’s combines an Argentine national curriculum with the IGCSE and IB diploma examinations. Central to this curriculum is the school’s belief that education must be personalised and tailored to each student.

Academics

While specific average GCSE and A-level grades for St George’s College are not publicly disclosed, the school’s rigorous academic programmes suggest a strong emphasis on high academic standards.

Head teacher

Former deputy headmaster Roberto Prata was appointed headmaster of the school in 2024. Prata was an assistant IB examiner from 2003 to 2009 and has been building his teaching career since 1991.

St George’s believes in preparing students to thrive in a global context, and pupils move on to leading universities in Argentina, the US and beyond.

Admissions

Applicants are invited to attend an informative meeting and tour, as well as an interview. Older students will sit assessments and submit their academic records.
