Spear’s Review
Established in 1882, Brillantmont International School is one of the oldest boarding schools in Switzerland and has been owned by the same family for five generations. This small, personalised and family-focused school in Lausanne makes the most of its location on the shores of Lake Geneva, and students benefit from the city’s educational, cultural and leisure opportunities, as well as the Swiss countryside and nearby ski slopes.
Students work towards IGCSEs and A-Levels; the US high school diploma is also an option. Brillantmont’s academic programme is well regarded, and the small class sizes – averaging nine pupils – allows for the individual needs of each student to be met.
The school’s exam success goes hand-in-hand with a nurturing environment and an inclusive approach to sport, music, art and drama. Pupils can also learn sculpture, photography, digital design, journalism and various musical instruments.
