Spear’s Review

Dulwich Prep & Senior is an independent day and boarding school situated in the heart of south London. 

Formerly known as Dulwich Prep London, the school announced its transition to a full prep and senior structure in 2025, with the senior school opening through a three‑year, phased rollout. The first cohort will move into Year 10 in 2026, with subsequent year groups opening as each class progresses.

Dulwich’s impressive facilities include spacious classrooms, a science block containing three labs, a design technology suite, a cookery suite, an observatory, a dedicated music school, a large sports hall, a studio theatre, an ICT suite, an art studio, a six-lane 25m swimming pool, woodland and more than 25 acres of playing fields.

Head teacher

Louise Davidson has been head master of Dulwich Prep & Senior since 2019. She has a master’s degree in education from the University of Cambridge and a doctorate in educational leadership and AI from the University of Reading.

Senior school destinations

According to the school, 95 per cent of Year 8 boys go on to their first-choice secondary schools, including Dulwich College, Eton, Harrow, Tonbridge School and Whitgift School.

Admissions

Dulwich Prep & Senior offers entry points at nursery, reception, Year 3, Year 7 and Year 9. Depending on age, the admissions process involves entrance assessments, including academic tests, interviews and activities designed to evaluate a child’s suitability. The school focuses on finding children who will thrive within its educational environment.
